So, here I'm having another one of those youth ministry moments when I go... hmmm... probably shouldn't have done that. Yesterday at G for Jesus, you may recall if you were there, I sang you a little ditty about Revelation that I shouldn't have. It's sarcastic humor, but when you think about it, it's not funny at all. I'm sorry - I don't want to give you the wrong idea.
I really REALLY hate when Christians do that stuff... like that "They Don't Serve Breakfast in Hell" song...
"When the toast is burned, And all the milk has turned, And Captain Crunch is waving farewell
When the big one finds you, May this song remind you, That they don't serve breakfast in hell"
So, I think my song was even worse, but I still hate this stuff... The same with calling April 1 National Athiest Day... I mean, I get it. You feel like somebody's picking on you, so you go on the offensive and say something mean about them before they say something mean about you. Just doesn't seem like we're relaying Christ's message accurately when we resort to that kind of stuff.
As far as I'm concerned, you might as well get a "Jesus Loves You and So Do I" bumper sticker and drive around making rude gestures at people. Or maybe, just grab your favorite Christian t-shirt and beat people up because they're gay. I'll quit now, you get the idea. My point is: sorry - shouldn't have given you the impression that I think taking hell lightly is the right way to go. -sigh-
On a different note - Here's the reading schedule for this week: Mon: Matthew 6:5-15 | Tue: Psalm 5:1-3 | Wed: 1 Thessalonians 5:17 | Thur: Matthew 26:36-45 | Fri: Matthew 14:22-23 | Sat: James 4:1-8
Look it up here!
Memory Verse - Psalm 5:3
In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.
OK - That's all - I'm going to grab some more dayquil, another tissue, and... maybe some captain crunch for dinner...
